Hello! My name is Derik and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania. I graduated from Saint Francis University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2013 and received my Master’s degree in Social Work from Edinboro University in 2015. I have a broad range of experience working with a wide range of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, family conflict, life transitions, anger management, marriage/couples’ counseling, open relationship/non-monogamy counseling, trauma, grief and loss and stress management.
Approach to Therapy
I approach therapy with my clients from an eclectic, strengths-based, generalist perspective. I find that every client is different and I don’t expect that the same interventions will work with everyone. That being said, I often find myself pulling from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. When we meet we’ll take time to discuss what led you to therapy and what you’re hoping to leave with. It’s my belief that we can all benefit from therapy for different reasons at different times in our life.
